Re: [RC] fly control suggestions - AmyI had a fox who made a den and had 4 pups right outside my horse pasture. As long as I close the chickens in at night, they do pretty well. If the fox came out, the chickens will just take cover by the horses and donkey. My donkey doesn't seem to be much of a guard donkey though...Forgot to close the coop one night and lost all but one chicken. I lost one hen this spring too just disappeared and must have been during the day. I figured I'd just see how it went.Amy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara McCrary" <bigcreekranch@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "marshall Bates" <muleman60@xxxxxxxxx>; "Karla Watson" <karlawatson@xxxxxxxxxxx>; "RIDECAMP" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2007 10:32 PM Subject: Re: [RC] fly control suggestions Free range chickens wouldn't have a chance of a snowball in a hot place around here. Too many hawks, coyotes, etc. and if nothing else would get them, our Border Collie would drive them nuts. :-))) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
