Re: [RC] EZ ride strrups, deathtraps? - Truman PrevattMike Lewis wrote:I bought the E-Z Ride stirrups with cages.I had a pair of E-Z Rides with cages once. I actually bought them by accident. By the time I got home and looked in the bag I found a pair with cages. So I tried them. First time out I'm riding pretty fact through a trail I really like. It is windy and it is tight in places and it is fun. There are several places I turn my toe in to keep for getting my stirrup caught. That works find - I had done it 100's of time, but a branch caught the damn cage. You guessed it, my leg went back, flipping me out of the saddle and I ended up with on the left side of my horse with my right leg over the top and my right foot still in the stirrup. Thank goodness for English saddles with quick release hangers and a horse that just stopped looked down wondering what the heck I was doing. Needless to say - that is the last time I rode with cages. I sold the cages. Just like anything with horses - one man's wine is another man's poison.
