Re: [RC] electrolytes and all advice - Tx TriggerI don't think "in general" they would do very well. MUCH easier for a horse who has been trained in humidity to handle heat and climbs, than a horse trained in mountains to handle humidity and the climbs. Even tough for mountain horses to handle humidity and flat in MY opinion. The canyons at Tevis can get humid at times, but nothing like I imagine OD can be in June. And, this would sure be an example of what might have been working at home, may not work at the ride with a huge change of conditions. I'd love to give OD a try some day, but *I* don't do well in humidity. And as far as the drop offs at Tevis, they are indeed, hard for some folks to think about. But if you have a really wonderful horse, who handles that kind of thing well, never takes a misstep, then they are not as much of an issue. 2004 I rode one who tripped a LOT, and THAT was not fun at all. Jonni ----- Original Message ----- From: Jody Rogers-Buttram I will go challenge more. I want to see a west coast horse come to the OD 100 in June. Just want to see how they would fair in the heat and humidity. I mean this in a nice way people, I am NO way saying your horses are not good. Frankly, I would LOVE to go do the Tevis, but those narrow trails with the BIG dropoffs is what keeps me here. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
