Endurance.Net Ridecamp Archives

This is an interesting question.  Nowadays, I cannot imagine there not being 
a water source at every VC.  When I first started riding endurance in 1971, 
the first VC was 12 miles from the start and it was a dry check.  No water 
at all!  There was a water crossing at 8 miles from the start, but the 
horses wouldn't drink there...too early.  Nowadays, water at a VC is 
virtually mandatory.
