RE: [RC] DQ if horse needs treatment within an hour of - heidiI guess I personally have a hard time visualizing a horse that
appreciates this. Every horse I've ever ridden knows when the
ride is over, and they don't WANT to be messed with again to be dragged
back to the vet after they've started to relax, have their chow handy,
and are ready to (as Bruce put it) "party down." I figure it is
far more of a courtesy to my horse to get it done with so that when he
gets back to his trailer and is all cleaned up and busy eating, he is
truly DONE.
I've had a couple of horses that were downright crabby about the
fact that they had to go back in an hour for BC when they've top
tenned--they figure that the fat lady has already sung, and that they
have earned the right not to have the hassle of being dragged away from
their cozy digs and their hay pile.
