[RC] Trail Manners - splashing - Aaron Turnage

Some horses do splash quite vigorusly with their
heads. My mom has one of those. He will scuba in the
trough up to his eyes and then start flinging his head
back and forth in the water. If you are within 10 ft,
you WILL be getting wet! Very bad manners as this
highly discourages others from drinking, in fact its
near impossible. My mom is very good about waiting
until everyone is done and then seeing if Joe will
drink, usually if hes going to splash, he will not
drink. When he gets thirsty enough, he wont really
splash first. So if your horse is a BIG splasher, then
yes, this is bad manners and needs to be managed in
such a way as to minimize this exposure to others. I
dont mind the little, Im clearing a clean spot to
drink splashes but these type of big splashers are
very annoying if the rider lets them play in the same
trough my horse is trying to drink from.

P.S. He is also prone to trying to climb in and/or lay
down in water, he really just LOVES to play in it.
Hell splash even by himself in the trough in the pasture.
