I have gravel in my dry lot area... it works great to help with the horses hooves... I also joined the barefoothorsecare list on Yahoo... lots of good info there to get your horse sound on all terrain and good boot discussions... I wanted to add, My herd loves the gravel, the roll and play and dance, and roll some more when ever I get a new load of gravel... I consider a neccesity for their hooves and for keeping the mud down in their dry lot in the spring of the year.... that and a good barefoot trim helps with good barefoot hooves...
