Don't forget that even though your helmet may not be
cracked to pieces, and blow to it may damage the structural integrity of the
support system. Best to get a new one if there's any doubt. I'm on the permanent
rotating Troxel replacement program - when one helmet takes a blow, I pull
the reserve out of the closet and send the broken one back. Only thing is you
have to send a "Dear Troxel" letter telling them what happened ;-) It's $30
+ $5 shipping for my $80 helmet so it's worth it.

Great helmet! My horse and I went backwards down a ravine
about 20 feet last October and I fell the entire way, bounced off a whole
bunch of boulders and then got trampled. I was darn glad I never leave without
my helmet. It had some nice gouges and scrapes on it. I wish the rest of my
body had been as protected as my head. People's heads don't like gouges and
scrapes too much, but helmets don't mind.
