I tested these a couple of years ago and found them to be disappointing -
don't last very long on hard surfaces, they are slippery on hard surfaces, wet
grass, leaves etc. and the lack of rigidity means they are not very supportive,
picking out feet is a pain with the half closed system and tendency for small
rocks to get stuck underneath - would rather have either completely open or
completely closed shoe. They also look awful (although I suppose if bright
yellow and green are your fave riding colours...)
We have friends who have used them with some success on jumping horses, but
they only ride in sand arenas so less wear of shoes
Like Mustad Nail Shus much better - except on wet grass etc. where
they are also v v slippery, if you ride on this kind of surface better use
tungstène inserts ( broke my leg when horse slipped on wet leaves & fell on
top of me) These shoes are quite thick which meant I could forego pads as sole
well protected. They are more resistant to wear - my horses loved them,
they were flying!
But after accident I'm back to St Croix steel shoes & tungstene inserts
for competition
Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with these. Do
they last = on rocky/hard surface riding? Are they really able to be
reset? How = does your horse like them. Thank you in
