RE: [RC] Sidepull - Mike SherrellI've seen
sidepull nosebands covered with fuzzy fleece like people sometimes cover their
girths with. I don't know how they get it into the right configuration. I've
used Dr. Scholl's-type Moleskin, the sticky fabric people sometimes put on
blisters.

I never had any mouth or bit
issues with my endurance horse, other than he was unable to eat or drink with a
bit in his mouth. So this was a necessity so that he could eat and drink
during a ride. I did have the same issue, rubs over the nose. I use
a double rope side pull. I wove some soft string over the double ropes,
but that wasn't enough to stop the rubs, so I just put a fleece cover over it
and that worked.
My biggest issue with the sidepulls is there quality. I am a leather
fan, no biothane here, but they are all made of low quality, stiff leather. Does
anyone know of a place that custom makes leather sidepulls? I have a
design and would prefer a bosal noseband to the double rope.
