Dear Truman,

Sorry to hear of the runaway. They said we learn best from our own misfortune, 
but it best to learn from someone else's misfortune. I hate the thought of 
taking one more decision out of the hands of parents, or joy of accomplishment 
from a child. However we do live in a country where that child must be wear a 
seat belt in a car. If that child dies in an accident not wearing one the 
parent can be charged with Negligent Homicide.

One question on that Shetland runaway. Were you using one of those Bitless 
Bridles.
