  My daughter has a very short, and short backed 1/2 arab.  I worried that we would have problems with his back.  She is riding, of all things on a short backed horse, an ortho-flex that has the long panels.  He has done one 100 mile ride, several 50's, including a two day.....never had a problem with him.   Does this pad have a really soft pile?  could be the way he moves, with a lot of side to side....causing the "fish-tailing" of the saddle to rub him.
