[RC] Sore knees - Sheila_LarsenIn addition to stirrup length make sure that you are not pushing excessively into the stirrups. I tend to brace my right leg in the stirrup and that is the leg/knee that will get sore if I don't stay on top of not bracing. Make sure your feet are underneath you and don't grip either with your knees. They type of stirrup is important too. For awhile I went with the trailtech stirrups (western style with a rubber donut at the top) which helped my knees tremendously but they are too tall for my small foot they would hit my shin area (have the scars to prove it) so know I use the type that every one uses but can't remember the name of (easy something)... geez getting old is a drag. Good judgment comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgment.
