Re: [RC] Black Tie Attire - Jeannie Gillen

Thank you....that sounds beautiful....I talked to staff at the Governor's Office today, and they confirmed the full length black gown question.

"Black Tie Attire"means formal tuxedos for the men and long evening gowns for the women.  I renewed my wedding vows with my husband 10 years ago in the chapel of the Heidelberg Castle in Heidelberg, Germany.  The young couple who got married right before us had their wedding party in formal equestrian attire.   Both groomsmen and bridesmaids were wearing black shadbelly coats, white breeches, black riding boots, and black top hats.  The men carried black riding crops and the women carried a long stem red rose.  The bride wore a regular white wedding gown, but the groom was in the same formal equestrian attire as the groomsmen.  It was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen.

Off Topic, but need your opinions......

I have been invited to the Governor's Inauguration and Celebration, so noted "Black Tie Attire.  I want to go, but I want to go in "Equestrian Black Tie Attire"......What exactly does (Equestrian) "Black Tie Attire" look like?

Your thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks
