Re: [Norton AntiSpam] [RC] Solar generators are silent! - Truman PrevattSherry Brunkhardt wrote:I am getting one of these for our motor home. I like the conveniences (hot showers & heaters) and hate noise. When we got our Sundowner about 11 years ago - Dean Jackson talked us into a solar panel - a 45 watt panel. It was wonderful. With that and two good deep cycle batteries we could run everything - except a microwave (which we had taken out so we could fit a larger frig) and the A/C. The few times we used the propane furnace - it worked fine off of battery. What was used up during the night was put back by the solar during the day. We traded ours in this year and the first thing I made them do before we bought it was put on a 60 watt solar panel. We didn't even own a generator till 2004 when we thought it would be nice to have one that would at least keep the food in our house frig from spoiling when the hurricanes roared through and we were without power for 8 days.
