I've ridden Western saddles that weighed in the neighborhood of 50#.  Not since I started endurance, but long before.

I've yet to find a Western saddle that weighs more than my endurance saddles.  If you really want lightweight, go with a synthetic.

Western tends to be heavy, and the choice between English and endurance depends on which fits you and your horse the best.

Which is a better saddle for endurance riding, english type, western type or the so called endurance type.
