RE: [RC] Pain and stiffness after a 50/it can be prevented somewhat! - Flora Hillman- Karen Standefer said "It's not just leaning forward that causes it. It's riding with our shoulders hunched up." Karen is 100% correct. Hunching your shoulders can be caused by stress, a difficult horse, a bad saddle, or poor posture. But the cure is always the same -- you need to keep saying to yourself "sit up straight, shoulders back, look proud". You may have to say it every quarter mile for the whole 50 miles...but by the end of the ride you won't have an aching back, and you'll look and feel much better. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
