I adore the visual concept. Take a look at this sled dog race site http://can-am.sjv.net/WebRace/CACFRAME.HTM At the top, click on the minus sign to the left of the "2007" to go to the page for the 2006 race. Then click the link that says "TRACK." You'll see a map showing the race trail, a clock running in the upper part of the screen, and a bunch of little yellow squares following the trail. Click on one of the squares to get info about that musher. This page works in "real time" during the race, with the little yellow squares moving a LOT slower, so we can check on everyone's progress while it's happening. Under the clock there's an "instructions" button so you can see what things you can do to see info on the page. I don't know how they do it - Authors' names are at the bottom of the page. Is there anything set up like this for endurance rides?
