Re: [RC] studies on horses/noxious weeds? - Sky Ranch

Here is a short list of a few articles I found on line, but I couldn't find any specific research articles.  I know that there was an article in the nat'l Back Country Horsemen newsletter in the last year or so that was discussing an on-going study about horses and whether or not they spread weeds in their manure, but I couldn't find any references to that.

Personally, I think there's probably more chance of spreading weeds from hay that's brought in to campsites, on wheels of vehicles, or in trailers, by accident, than by horse droppings on the trails.

Here's the Colorado info on "noxious weeds" -

Here's the website for BCH in Colorado -- I think Ottie might be able to help you, too, her e-mail address is at the bottom of the page -

Subject: [RC] studies on horses/noxious weeds?

Does anyone have any links to studies that show that horses DON?T have an impact on bringing in noxious weeds?
