[RC] long vs shortbeds and goosenecks - smuncy

Jmho, and after  checking with other makes several years ago  and specs.   a few years ago --    would opt for long bed,in any package  p/u.  Have heard of  too many that got 'jack- knifed'  for whatever reason  - that if had long bed and  trailer ball mounted correctly, would  not have had  damages to cab of truck or nose of trailer.  Or got hung up , on uneven road surfaces,  and damaged  truck sides.
Other  - consideration  - a truck  with  sides  that 'sit low'  over different  terrain, but has  underground clearance . Ie. Trailer pulls level.   ( why I like GMC - had best 'pumpkin'  clearance  then . ?? now)  - that is what counts.   Found most  Fords and Dodges  are to  high profile, unless raise trailers;  horses then travel uneven; and still have problem with catching sides of truck or back.??   And,  as far as - 'snow  vehicle'  want more ground clearance underneath - and an inch can  make diffence ( GMC had better clearance) ,  and GMC was easier to get in and out of, especially with 'bad back'.  jmo   smuncy
