RE: [RC] Truck campers - Becky RohwerI set myself up with a pickup camper about 4 years ago. It is a Lance Lite. I have it on a 3/4T GMC. The camper is a little narrower and a little lower profile and lighter than a regular camper. It is 8 1/2 feet in length, so the tail gate must be off the truck and I do have just a bit of an extended hitch to give me a little more turning radius. I usually take the back jacks off too so they are out of the way. My camper is perfect for one person. A little tight for two, but can be done. It has everything I need. Queen size bed, fridge with freezer, hot water, cook top and oven, heater, shower & toilet and lots of storage. I usually travel with just one horse. I have a two horse trailer, so I use one of the stalls and the tack area for all my feed, buckets, etc.... I enjoy having it too because I often times use it for going to the lake or other camping adventures I may take with out the horses.
