Re: [RC] Tailing question - Maryanne GabbaniDon't laugh too hard.I train all my youngsters for their formative years with easy round pen work and they all learn "Walk", "Trot", "Stop" and "Turn" as well as "No" and "Thank you" the latter being the praise for doing something right. Once under saddle they do learn "Right/Yameen" and "Left/Shemal" as well as "Not that way, you dunce" as part of trail training. My old dressage trainer taught me to preface commands with "AAAANNNNDDDD" in a drawn out, firm, but calm voice...result being that if you say "And" in that way, it's akin to a verbal half-halt because they all know that they'd better watch out because the real boss mare is about to say something important. I've found it to be worth any amount of money to be able to talk to my horses from another mount and have them pay attention....very useful when taking out people who consistently overestimate their riding abilities.
