RE: [RC] WEG -- the USA team - Bob MorrisTitle: MessageHeidi
states; "All the stuff about who votes and who doesn't vote is a
smokescreen--those who are participating at high levels are a part of AERC, and
their input is heard and felt. We can be provincial and ignore them, or we
can have some positive input as to what they say on our
behalf."
I
dispute this statement to the extent that "or we can have some positive input as
to what they say on our behalf" is not appropriate in this instance. The AERC as
a Conference must take the leadership position. We cannot just provide input, if
it is to work we must provide LEADERSHIP.
Words
are multitudinous, ACTIONS are what make the impressions that last. If the AERC
is to be a leader, it must lay aside the stringent factions that are present. It
must provide the membership and the equestrian community true leadership through
action.
While
a vision statement is good, a place in the sun to strive for, the true measure
is how that vision is to be attained. What, exactly, is the business plan of the
AERC to attain this vision? What is to be done and when is it to be done?
Currently all I see is "same'o same'o".
We
need to see some substantial change.
