I agree that bloodline discussions can too easily deteriorate into horse commercials, and I was sad to see a couple such responses to John's post. 

 

That said, hey, arguing with John is a fun pastime!  I do it all the time, but he knows we're buddies anyway... <g>

i think john's point is that he doesnt want this or any discussion to become a  commercial or promotion for particular breeders or bloodlines, or a "my horse is better than your horse" contest.   also, instead of arguing with john when he calls someone to task a bit, i think a proper response, when he posts such a request (since it is his and steph's site) would be, "sure john, i will try to do better."
