[RC] Bloodlines - Donna Coss

Those of you who are MORAB people might take this to your board of directors, as I can't seem to get this idea through to them.

Most of you are aware that the Shagya is a 200 year old breed that out crosses to PB Arabian about every 5-6 generations. The
Shagya breed has always been performance tested! Since the MORAB is a cross between the Arabian and the Morgan WHY
wouldn't the Shagya Arabian X Morgan be acceptable?

The Shagya is essentially an Arabian bred to performance standards and some of the older type Morgans that were true endurance
horses would make a great cross with the Shagya. Surely the Shagya is just as purebred as the Morgan that descended from Justice Morgan
not that many years ago!

And we have all seen what some breeders have done to the Morgan breed with some looking like American Saddlebreds!!

Why would the Shagya breeders care?

It would give us more mares for our stallions to service, and I feel the cross would be a sound one! The Shagya is still so rare
and there are only a handful in the U.S. compared to other breeds. They deserve to be more popular as they have so much to
offer the endurance rider.
