RE: [RC] Braiding the mane - JeanIt's a French braid done with a length of fabric. I do it to my draft. You need a long piece of fabric, folded in half it needs to be longer than their neck. Start at the poll,at the center of the length of fabric either tie or use an elastic to attach it to the mane. Then start to braid using the mane as one section and the fabric as the other two gathering up more bits of mane as you progress(just like a human French braid) then use an elastic at the end. It takes practice and I can honestly say that mine never looked that spiffy but it really isn't hard. Jean Does anybody know how to do what is shown in this picture to a horse's mane? It looks like it would work really well for keeping it out of the way on a ride. http://www.cadrenoir.fr/siteene/html/fonds_decrans/main1024.jpg kat Orange County, Calif. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
