RE: [RC] Stirring up a hornet's nest! - Jim Holland
Otherwise known as “Yellow Jackets”.
You can go out and buy hornet spray…or a lot of other chemicals, but the easiest
way is to locate the hole, then come back after dark with one cup of
gasoline. Pour it down the hole….no more Yellow Jackets. Don’t
light the gasoline…..VERY dangerous….will remind you of Caddy
Shack. <grin> Kerosene or Diesel Fuel will also work, but not as well as
gasoline. Don’t get carried away…doesn’t take much…won’t
even kill the grass around the hole. If you do it during the day, many of
the residents will be out foraging….they will hang around the hole for
several days….and they are NOT in a good mood.
Heh, heh….I have to laugh here Rob….I
weedeat my fence about once every 10-14 days and finish mow my pastures with a
belly mower weekly. My weedeater doesn’t have a strap for a very
good reason….can drop that thing and run!

Now does anyone know the best way to get rid of a ground
hornet nest?
