First of all I would like to wish all a wonderful and safe ride for both human and horse to all of those riding at Tevis this year. This is my first year taking a very interested part in distance riding. So for all attending, both in the saddle and on the ground, a safe journey to all of you.
Secondly, I am a major advocate of helmets, as most of us here are. I won't go into the details, but suffice it to say I took a tremendous fall, in an arena that could have left me brain damaged or worse, if I did not have a helmet. This was 2 years ago, and I am still dealing with fear issues, so I ride with a kickbutt Tipperary helmet, and a wonderful safety vest.
I deeply admire the technology and safety features in our helmets.
