[RC] EN news, responsibility for horse deaths - RHONDA LEVINSONWell, first, I disagree with Truman that a horse doesn't care how far or how fast he goes. I have at least two horses who live to run and TO WIN. If I had done endurance on either of these horses and let them go, they would literally have run until they died. So, second, I agree with Truman that it is always my responsibility to try to protect my horses; in my case, to protect them from themselves.I'm not a member of AERC right now. Is there a link to the article about the drug violation or could someone post a copy? I would love to read that. The AERC seems to have the checks in place to address that. Maybe I am giving the AERC too much credit (especially after reading the tap dance in EN today over the drug violation that went unpunished) maybe its the collective conscience that Steph gave us in Ridecamp many moons ago. I don't know but we usually "self right" on these things. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
