The first paragraph sounds like you are saying that since the rider took her horse over a jump and since the horse didn't have a say, and because some riders go for the highest jump, tough kid... it's your fault. That sounds pretty harsh, unlike you. Because you are responding to a post about a jumping accident and because you have blamed the girl for her horse's death in the first paragraph, the inescapable conclusion to be drawn from your second paragraph is that jumping is one of those sports that "eats horses". While I sure don't have any stats, I would find it hard to believe that Novice Jumpers have more deaths per round than Endurance horses do per start. I am assuming that Julie's post was intended to show that even in a very safe venue, Novice Jumping, deaths can happen. Since I must have misunderstood you, maybe others did too. Could you rephrase?
