I have never seen forestry flagging tied to clothes pins. Also, we use a two-color system....neon pink with white. The pink shows in the forest, the white shows at night. Clothes pins allow you to hang them and remove them much more quickly and to re-use them year after year. She would not believe that not only we had not had a ride there for 2 years (to many ribbons and direction signs vandalized by casual riders), but that I had seen the ribbons she mentioned and that they were obviously put there by either state personnel or hunters as they were not on any trail we had ever used.
