Has anyone ever seen or made some kind of saddle attachment to carry a 
small dog behind the saddle?

I have a new little terrier and she will be so upset if I leave her 
behind when I take the horses and the big dogs out.  However, I think 
she will tire out before the others (short legs) or not be able to keep 
up if we get going faster.

I would love some kind of saddle attachment so that, when necessary, I 
could put her behind me on the horse - but I don't want her attached to 
me in anyway because if I come off, I don't want to land on her.
