Re: [RC] Saddle Matchmaker - Laney HumphreyUnless he's changed it recently, there is one huge flaw with his guage. It cannot measure lateral asymmetries and horses that are perfectly symmetrical are few and far between. Good saddle makers know this about his guage and that's one reason they aren't interested in using it.Laney Rob Losey wrote: I have read a lot of Ferrand's information. I think his science is very sound. Not just the measuring gage, but the system for making trees, as well as a pressure mapping system that ties a wired pad to a computer. It can tell the exact pressure per inch through out the entire surface of a tree with a rider on board. The main problem is the system is to good. I think it would help saddle makers make a better saddle. It can also tell a consumer when a brand new custom saddle doesn't fit. No surprise saddle makers don't want to sign on. I would pay extra for a saddle make with this technology. A prescription saddle for my mule. It will come in the future. I hope I'm still riding when it does. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
