From far far northern California: more rain and fog than I
have ever seen, one or the other or both since Thanksgiving! Last night
rained all night, this morning woke to snow. Oh, man, what a
winter.
It is so ironic.....we've bogged in mud
and Texas and Oklahoma are burning up. If only the weather could be
spread around a little more evenly. It was supposed to rain here by
yesterday evening, but the storm just sat off of NW California and dumped 4"
of rain on them in 24 hours. It's down her now, but not heavy
yet.....just soggy and so depressing.
I hear you - and I have friends in Texas that
are desperately needing rain! We're way behind here on snow, had two
very dry months in Nov. and Dec. and the snowpack is dwindling. Bad
news for next year's water supply!
It's a sunshiny and calm day here, perfect
for riding. It's a strange winter so far...very dry, we sure could
use some snow.
As a certified newbie, I'm looking forward
to going to my first endurance ride, so please be assured I'm one of the
many (I'm sure most) newbies who appreciate all the advice,
friendliness, and years of experience on this list. Rest assured I
won't be trying to break any speed records, well, maybe I will, for
slowest speed on record for a first 50... and believe me, I can do
it!
