Re: [RC] Selenium Vit E and flax/BOSS - christabasHow do I find out if my area is selenium deficient? I know it wasn't in East TX, but I don't know anything about Southern CA!

I've read everything I can get my eyes on and I'm still not satisfied, perhaps I'm overcomplecating things. I wasn't happy with the way my horse was behaving on sweetfeed so I took him off it. He is much less spooky now. He gets rolled barley and beet pulp and free choice timothy grass hay. Because we have selenium deficient soil I give him a seleiun/Vitamin E supplement and he also gets glucosamine. Here's the question, would he be better off with black oil sunflower seeds and flax seed mixed or with the VitE/selenium he gets now?
