Hello Amber,
I congratulate you on your patient re-explanation of your attempt to 
educate a prospective endurance rider. It is so aggravating to have 
good advise dismissed by a "dim-bulb". There is also another 
possibility here. I post on several truck forums and occasionally a 
chevy guy will post on the Ford forum (or visa-versa) and start out 
slow then eventually get a big hot discussion going just for fun. 
It's possible "dim-bulb" has been rattling our collective cages just for fun.
