*OMG, I could have written that. I went to be evaluated and was told the exact same thing Friday. Unfortunately (or not) my cataracts are now that bad and insurance would not pay for them. Once they do get that bad (according to the insurance company) they would be paid for. To have the cataract removal and crystalens put in would run about $8500 if I had it done now.*

Come to FL, the cataract surgery center of the universe. I had mine done at one of the best centers around for a little over 2 k an eye. The surgery only takes about 30 seconds per eye - although the first one felt like it took forever. I also have astigmatic implants so I am 20/20 (distance). I had no issues with insurance. At my normal check up my eye doctor told me she could no longer correct the small blur I had because of the cataracts. The next Monday I had my right eye done and on Tuesday my left eye done. In 10 days I had them rotated to true (astigmatic lenses require this since they will move a little the first day or so).

I've had to have the scar tissue blasted away on my left eye last year - the old lens tires to grow back and forms scar tissue. I will have to have it blasted away on the right one soon. That's sort of a cool procedure done with a Yag laser. Old Flash Gordon aims the puppy and blast away. When it hits the spot you see from the red focusing laser he uses washes the entire eye with line for a brief instance as the scare tissue is smoked.

The best thing I ever did. I can ride now without dirt under the contacts or fogged up glasses.
