Re: [RC] [RC] pics of my favorite training hill - Barbara McCrary
Since I live in the vicinity of Eric's
training hill, I can answer that no, it isn't heat and humidity that makes the
grass green, but winter rains (of which we have had a LOT this year.) It
may get warm on occasions, but not like in some places. And in summer,
this grass will be brown. And, of course, we do have summer fogs from the
Pacific Ocean, but that just makes the weather cool...it doesn't keep the grass
green. For some reason, our seasons indicate the grass shall turn brown by
mid-June, and there is little to change that, even a wet winter. I think
in 1997-98, when we had so much rain (much more than this year), the grass
showed a tiny bit of green at about July 1st, but then did its summer
thing. Grass heads out and is destined to be dry by mid-June...it's
programmed that way.
