[RC] Other English pads - Mel - mkrumlawJust to toss something out for all of you to think about.... When I first saw the Wintec Cair saddles I thought they were a really neat idea too. Though I'm a hard core ReactorPanel Saddle fan and now fitter, I thought the I.W. Cair Dressage would be an inexpensive option for me when schooling in dressage and possibly showing for some training level classes. During one of our *Midnight* saddle fit debates, we brought up the topic of the air paneled saddles. One of our fitters pointed out that the if the air panels don't fit the horse correctly they can actually be harder and worse than a flocked saddle. Me always being on the *show me* side of a discussion went out the next day and did an impression test on the Cair and the horse I was using it on. The result was probably one of the worst impressions I've seen, meaning there were some serious pressure points created by the fit. This isn't meant to say negative things about the Wintecs for those they fit it's a good choice. My comments are to point out that good saddle fit is important regardless of your saddle choice, and that there is no one saddle out there that will fit all horses.
