Re: [RC] advair and weight gain - Tiffany D'VirgilioYou inhale it into your lungs directly onto your bronchial tissues. It's not a "real trick", I'm not sure why you have attitude with me. It's the same with steroids that you put in your nose or cortisone cream. You treat the tissue directly instead of systematically. I have not personally gained weight from advair, when I did gain weight it was from eating too much or sitting too much. It's better for me than going on prednisone and being uncontrolled. That's me, maybe for you it's different. I'm not quite sure why you asked, if you are already so sure about the answer. You are however, incorrect about the way medicines can and do deliver drugs to your system.Tiffany On Apr 12, 2006, at 12:44 PM, Keith Kibler wrote: "'Prednisone/solumedrol will make you fat. Advair will not." I know that this is standard medical opinion. I beleive that is entirely false. I have been on advair for 12 years. How an inhaled steroid that enters your lungs can go "straight to the organ you need it to" would be a real trick. The fda and glaxo Klien just agreed that Glaxo (who makes advair) would start warning phsycians would be told to only proscribe advair as a last resort to asthmatics who did not have another way to treat their asthma due to complications from advair. ( I stipulate that not all those complications, or even the most important ones were weight gain) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
