I
haven't been on RC latley for several reasons. Remodeling means no
electricity until the electrician decides so. I feel so out of touch without
my computer which is really sad. At the same time, I have done alot more
riding without it!
The other reason was the abuse that one poster
kept on giving and giving. Then to read that one must tolerate such abuse in
order to learn was more than I could take. If my teachers had ever called me
a cow, my parents would have strung them up and beat them senseless. In
order to educate, people must have the desire to hear what you have to
share. Name calling and verbal abuse does not create that type of
environment. At least, not in my world.
My mom passed away this past
Christmas. She had every reason to be bitter and angry at the world, but she
wasn't. Up until the very end, she was still teaching us valuable lessons. I
have decided that from now on, before I add my two cents or let a
conversation evolve into an arguement, I will ask myself, in the end will it
matter? If it doesn't than I can let it go because life really is too short.
Too short to tolerate ignorance, abuse, bullying and people who are not so
bright. Present company excluded. ;)
I am glad that within the few
days that I have been lurking, the whole Shagya drama has come to an end. I
know Angie and everyone else meant well. I really appreciated the comments
from the always wise Kim and the ice breaking comedian Dr.("I wanna Shagya."
That was soooo funny!)
Don't argue over what's the "real distance"
for endurance or which is the perfect breed. Ride your own horse however
long you want to and don't worry about what everyone else is doing. Before
you know it, you are so caught up in someone else's business that you don't
have time for yourself. If there is something you want to share in the name
of education, present it in a way so as not to offend, and people will
gobble it up like a horse does beet pulp!
Life is REALLY too short to
spend so much time on RC, (no offense to Steph and John as we all appreciate
the ability to have a RC and the wonderful pictures and news coverage)or on
any other forum for that matter. Especially when you have horses to ride as
well as family and friends to spend time with. If the weather is bad, read
the rest of the stuff on Endurancenet. It is jam packed with good stuff!
Just keep your credit card handy;)
Just ride. Lisa Salas, The Oddf
ARm posting as a guest, living out of the horsetrailer, no e-mail, no
kitchen, no lights, no fridge, no dishwasher, no plumbing......all the more
reason to ride, I
say!!!
