[RC] Drinking Problem - Carolyn BurgessThere is a difference between training a horse to drink and the horse learning that it needs to drink at every opportunity presented. I prefer that my horse learns to drink, he did and he does. Carolyn Burgess heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: Well, shure. But the rider hadn't trained the horse, either! Now that kinda IS a "cause and effect" thing--a rider that doesn't know any better can't train the horse very well either, now can she? And I'll wager that you HAVE "trained your horse" by the very actions that you described--when you get off and loosen your cinch at a water stop, he knows he's gonna be there until he drinks... And that approach works even without fumbling with the e-lyte syringe, thumbs or no thumbs... :-) Heidi Carolyn Burgess
