A colic is any sort of abdominal discomfort. It can range from a gas bubble with minor and transient discomfort to a twisted gut resulting in intestinal death, enterotoxemia, and death of the horse--and contains everything in between. So Dabney, being a legal beagle, should know that indeed, she DID cause her horse to colic--albeit a mild case.
