We have one that we do not electrolyte. Even when he did 100 miler in 100
degrees. He does not respond well to them at all! Took me awhile to figure
this out but I know now NOT to give him lytes. He not a particularly great
eater but he'll eat, not a particularly great drinker but he'll drink. And
anytime he has top tenned he was won high vet score. What ever works for
him.
Matter fact his two half siblings we ride also do not do well will lytes
either. It took us awhile to figure this out but they perform 100% better with
no lytes. Jezireh, however, does well with small doses.
I have said this before, you have to know what works for your
horse.
