I never have & don't wish to, I like to listen to my mule/horse the 'old fashioned' way. My only personal experiences with them is having to stop constantly during a ride when my riding buddy's HRM wasn't working right. I'm not looking for replies that say how good they are to have--I'm sure they are. Just wondering if I'm the only 'low techy' out there. Marirose & Mules: Nellie, Noodle & Monty in MI I have a couple of HRMs whose batteries have been dead for years, since that's how long it's been since I used one. When I did use one, it generally showed me that I was riding more conservatively than I had to, so the result was that I rode faster with one than without. I may begin using one again, though, sometime this year or next. Or maybe not, I haven't decided. The "high-tech" gadget that I am using all the time now, that I love, is my GPS. I come home from a ride and download the tracks onto my computer and display them over topo maps and aerial photos, it's really neat. Not much fuss, I just start the GPS and put it in my cantlebag just before leaving each vet check, then save the track when I get to the next check. I also use it to keep track of my training miles, both riding and walking/running. That gives me an incentive to train more regularly. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
