I am relatively new to the sport and have been uncomfortable using e-lytes with my gelding. I don't feel like I know enough about them to use them properly, but allowed myself to basically be bullied into it by "conventional wisdom". With your comments and the recent news about ulcers I am doubly convinced that right now, for me and my horse, they're not a good idea. Thanks, -Sharon Levasseur, Maine Add me to those who believes that many riders over-electrolyte their horses. When it comes to any form of supplement, but especially electrolytes, I believe in moderation. For my own body, during a ride I only drink small amounts of "sports drinks." I drink some fruit juice but mainly plain ordinary water. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxx http://www.rnbw.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
