RE: [RC] Painful, cold fingers - Libby & Quentin Llop DVMFishermen's "wet" mittens. Knit an oversize wool mitten and shrink the daylights out of it. I don't deliberately wet mine, but hear tell that Maine Lobstermen soak theirs in the bilge water before they put them on. They are warm dry or wet. When it's that cold fingers need company. I can do most chores and ride with the mittens on, but can also whip one off and get it back on before my fingers freeze, if I need to. I am wearing those glove liners with the mylar threads running through them, and rubber gloves to keep my hands dry (leather gloves get wet fast and are useless). Believe it or not, down to well below freezing this combo works fine. However, below zero, the combination isn't so fine at all. I'd like to know if anyone's got the perfect solution for cold hands that still allows a person to work with the hands. ------------------------ Lif Strand, Research Associate Southwest Center for Resource Analysis Western New Mexico University (505) 773-4897 (505) 212-0108 FAX -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
