most rides now have gate into hold.


That's what I now understand is the case.  I guess that's what I am
uncomfortable with.  Isn't "gate into a hold"  a rule that we have learned
is better for ALL rides?  What is the reason some rides still use and are
allowed to use the straight hold system for their checks (I'm not talking
about an occasional out check here.)
