Re: [RC] Vet Check holds - Linda S. FlemmerI rode endurance in the early 1980's when your hold started at arrival and your pulse had to be 72 before LEAVING the check after your hold. I remember a lot of horses who were "on the edge" and had no business going back out. I haven't seen a ride that did't use a hold gate in many years. I'd hate to go back to that. We're riding smarter & safer now with the gates into a hold. The rules say, "It is recommended that all checkpoints be of the "gate into a hold" type." Are there any rides out there that still start hold times upon entering the check? What is the feeling on this? Randy =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
