I agree, Lif
MUCH easier than the paste-- horses can't spit it out-- it is a little oily and sticks to their mouth! I use 10 cc for up to a 1200lb horse. You can get the Ivermec for cattle (be sure to get the one that is NOT the PLUS one-- has something added that is only good for cattle) on-line-- Jeffers is usually the cheapest and it works out to under $4/horse.
Lately, though, Jeffers has been having specials on their paste horse wormers-- ivermectin-- at $3.39/tube. I got that thinking the horses would like the apple flavor and be happier about worming-- wrong! Some still managed to surprise me and spit some out. The liquid Ivermec is much easier to give them. Also, sometimes you can find Equimec (Same thing) on sale there. When there is a price difference (for some reason, drug manufacturers think that horse people have more money to spend than cattle people-- have they looked at the price of beef lately!!!), go for the Ivermec for cattle-- identical unless you get the BAD PLUS one (cannot stress that enough!)
Bette, who has a herd and cannot afford to buy Zymectrin at $13+/tube!!!

A vet told me I could give it to horses as a drench rather than as an injection, but I haven't tried that - I just use the paste wormers for the horses.

I used the cattle/injectible as an oral wormer for years. Squirting a relatively small amount of liquid in a horse's mouth from a narrow syringe (without the needle, of course) is way easier than squishing in a glob of paste which can be spit out so easily from a fat tube.
